Autoimmune conditions happen when your immune system, usually responsible for protecting you from illness, reacts against your own healthy tissues, and can cause inflammation and discomfort.
We are a charity organisation made up of people with lived experience of autoimmunity. We’re not run by clinicians or pharmaceutical companies, but are guided by the voices in our community.
My Flare Up has proudly partnered with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia on a powerful video series with a shared purpose; to share culturally resonant education and and wisdom for managing an autoimmune condition. The messages themselves were chosen by the communities, in their own language and voice.
My Flare Up seeks to build genuine two-way partnerships that are grounded in collaboration and a shared commitment to improving the lives of people living with autoimmune conditions. We work closely with a number of clinicians who provide regular guidance and check-ins to ensure we stay within our supportive scope by not crossing into medical advice. Most of our projects are in collaboration with like-minded groups and organisations with similar goals, and we are always looking for new opportunities to achieve this.
